The photographer Angelika Buettner and the creative director Jorge Tort created in Paris a series of artistic photographs called "Menagerie". Shot in an ancient cardboad factory, the series unveils images of an imaginary circus-cabaret, filled with mystery and sensuality. Its characters, beautiful magical creatures, but unreachable and elusive, lead us unto a vertiginous fall into passion and danger. Inspired by Dante Alghieri's poem of the dammend lovers, Brechtian songs of postwar Berlin and the French sounds of the Music-Hall, the show entices us with images of heightened beauty, drama and sophistication. With the help of a talented group of international models, gifted artists of hair, makeup and post production and exquisite techniques of lightning and photography, the Buettner/Tort duo visually transports us into a unique latitude of unexpected beauty, an alluring and provoking trip into an arresting and passionate universe.
